Halloween Spider Web Guacamole is a super easy dip or appetizer you can make for any party with sour cream webs, black olive spider and a skull avocado for more thrill!

This super fun dip makes for a fun, haunting and delicious appetizer for any themed party, especially Halloween!

HALLOWEEN:

With Halloween coming up in a few days, every house is gearing up to celebrate this spooky day with dressing up in weird costumes, trick or treating, throwing gory, spooky, scary parties and generally having fun!

Although, I never knew about this traditional Halloween while growing up in India, in recent times, it has become a global way to have fun. There is a certain history to this day which you can check out here.

Lately, even in India, you see people having fun with spooky, scary Halloween parties, and many hotels revving up their revenue by holding Halloween parties!

SPIDER WEB GUACAMOLE:

To add some fun to this year’s Halloween, I decided to join in the fun and make something interesting! So, when I came across this fun way of serving guacamole (our family’s all-time favorite dip) on Food Network, I had to make it! You can check out the recipe that I have always been making here.

It is so easy and fun to make. All you need to make is regular guacamole with some fresh, ripe avocados, place them in a bowl and use some sour cream to make the spider webs.

I found it fun and exciting to make the spiders from some black olives; such a simple, yet brilliant idea!

To add more pizzaz and thrill, I had to make the avocado skull! Of course, my husband helped me make this as I was having difficulty using the knife to score the shell of the avocado.

Once all the elements were ready, all I needed to do was arrange them on a serving platter and serve up with crispy, crunchy tortilla chips. I have used Blue corn and quinoa chips, you can use any kind that you can get.

Now, isn’t that fun and interesting?

Do make this super easy and thrilling dip for this Halloween and have a great time!

Enjoy and Happy Halloween!

HALLOWEEN SPIDER WEB GUACAMOLE

Give your homemade avocado dip, a spooky makeover by making this super easy Halloween Spider Web Guacamole!

Ingredients

    FOR GUACAMOLE:
  • 3 small ripe avocados
  • ¼ cup finely chopped red onions
  • 2 green chilies/ 1 jalapeno, finely chopped
  • 1 large clove of garlic, grated
  • Juice of half lemon or lime
  • Salt to taste
  • OTHER INGREDIENTS:
  • Sour cream, diluted with a little lime or lemon juice
  • Large black olives, 3
  • 1 small avocado (for the skull)
  • Tortilla chips, Blue corn and yellow corn chips

Instructions

    TO MAKE THE GUACAMOLE:
  1. Peel, remove the pit/stone and scoop out avocados into a bowl.
  2. Add the onions, chopped chilies, grated garlic and lime juice and mash along with avocado with a fork or spoon to a fairly smooth mixture.
  3. TO MAKE THE SPIDER WEB:
  4. Fill a squeeze bottle or even a Ziploc bag with the sour cream. Snip of off a small portion on bottom corner to allow the cream to flow smoothly.
  5. Spoon the prepared guacamole into a flat bowl and smoothen the top with an offset spatula or spoon.
  6. Pipe concentric circles of the sour cream over the smoothened guacamole, starting from the center.
  7. Using a toothpick or even a dry spaghetti, pull line starting from the center circle to the edge to form the spider web like formation.
  8. TO MAKE THE OLIVE SPIDER:
  9. Slice one olive into two long halves.
  10. Use one of the halves for the body of the spider.
  11. Slice the remaining 1 ½ olives with a sharp knife to form the legs.
  12. Gently, using a tweezer, place the body and legs of the spider over the guacamole, to form the shape of a spider! You can place it anywhere you want.
  13. TO MAKE THE AVOCADO SKULL:
  14. Using a sharp knife, make two eyes of the skull, coring into the avocado until you reach the center seed/pit.
  15. For the nose, make an inverted heart shape.
  16. Discard the skin and pulp.
  17. For the mouth, cut a long rectangle; just the skin, and make teeth designs using a sharp knife or toothpick on the exposed avocado flesh.
  18. TO SERVE THE HALLOWEEN SPIDER WEB GUACAMOLE:
  19. Place the bowl in the center of a large serving plate.
  20. Arrange the tortilla chips around the spider web bowl.
  21. Place the avocado skull wherever you please and serve immediately!
  22. Happy Halloween!

Notes

Use any kind of chips to serve with these.

You can even enjoy this dip with vegetable sticks (carrots, celery, radish, cucumber etc.) or some simple crackers.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
