Nutella filled chocolates are bites of Nutella (chocolate-hazelnut spread) heaven, perfect as a gift or as a treat for your children and family; maybe even an indulgence for yourself!! They are so easy to make; just coat chocolates molds with chocolate, fill with nutella and cover the top with more chocolate, let it set and serve!!!

As you know from my previous post, I had made easy Homemade Kit Kat bars which my family and friends loved (I had to distribute it to avoid over gorging on them!!) and had some melted chocolate leftover in the bowl. Today, I decided to use them in making nutella filled chocolates!!

I am a whole and whole chocolate lover, so you will almost always find a Nutella jar in my pantry.  When my children were small, I used to make a variety of chocolates for them like almond chocolates, mint flavored chocolates and mocha filled chocolates. I will share how to make these very soon.

Today, I will share how to make my Nutella filled chocolate with you. You will need your favorite chocolate (I am using Morde milk chocolate), a jar of Nutella and some plastic or silicon chocolate molds. Just melt chocolate, coat the cavities, fill with Nutella and pour chocolate again and chill; as easy as that!!!

With festivities just around the corner, these will make perfect gifts to give to your loved ones!!

Lets do it!!

Nutella Filled Chocolates

Nutella filled chocolates are bites of Nutella heaven, perfect as a gift or as a treat for your children and family; maybe even an indulgence for yourself!!

Ingredients

  • 200 gm milk chocolate
  • Nutella
  • Chocolate moulds

Instructions

    Melting the chocolate:
  1. Chop the chocolates into small pieces and place in a bowl.
  2. Now you need to melt this chocolate over a double boiler (my method) or microwave.
  3. As mentioned in my post of homemade kit kat bars, you need to place the bowl of chocolates over a bowl of simmering hot water and keep stirring the chocolate till it is almost completely melted.
  4. Make sure that steam or water drops do not get into the chocolate or it will seize and harden and will become useless and you will have to start all over again with fresh chocolate.
  5. Then remove from heat and keep stirring till completely melted.
  6. Filling the mould:
  7. With a small spoon (or if you prefer in a piping bag), pour small quantities of melted chocolate into each mold to fill it.
  8. Either you can fill a little and tilt the mould to coat the sides of the cavities or fill completely (which is easier).
  9. Once the mould is coated fully, tilt the whole chocolate mould over the bowl of chocolate to remove excess chocolate and leave only a coating in the mould.
  10. Place this mould into the refrigerator for at least 10 to 15 minutes for the chocolate to set.
  11. Filling the Nutella:
  12. After the chocolate has set, remove from the refrigerator. Spoon or pipe small quantities of Nutella into each cavity or chocolate mould. Take care not to fill till the top as you need some space to fill the base of the chocolate to encase the Nutella. Now tap the chocolate mould on the counter to level the Nutella in the mould and to remove all air bubbles.
  13. Melt the chocolate in the bowl again and spoon over the Nutella filled chocolate, to cover completely, tap the plastic chocolate mould again on the counter a few times.
  14. Remove excess chocolate from the top of the mould with a knife or tissue and place the mould again in the refrigerator to set.
  15. After 15 minutes or so, remove the mould from the fridge. If the chocolate has set completely, you will notice that the chocolate does not look wet at the bottom of the mould. Turn the mould over on a plate. Bang it a little and if the chocolate is completely set, they will just fall out of the mould on to the plate.
  16. These scrumptious, decadent Nutella-filled Chocolates are ready to dig your teeth into!!
  17. Share them with family and friends, give as gifts or just keep them for yourself as an indulgent treat!!
  18. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

Make sure the moulds are perfectly clean before starting.

Do not leave the chocolate in the refrigerator for too long as they may “sweat” or crack when they come to room temperature.

You can fill these with peanut butter, mocha filling, caramel or any other filling you desire. Just make sure it is encased fully in the chocolate.

Feel free to use any type of chocolate: milk, dark or white!!

If you do not have any Nutella or any other filling, just fill the molds with chocolate and make homemade chocolate in different shapes!!!

You can use any shape mold as long as they have enough space to fill the chocolates.
