Salt and black pepper powder to taste
1tspdried parsley
1tspdried basil
Zest from one lime
½lime/lemon juice or to taste
Instructions
Wash and chop fresh broccoli into bite-sized pieces, depending upon the size you prefer in your salad. If you love raw broccoli, just use them as such in the salad or if you prefer them slightly cooked, then go ahead and steam them or even roast them.
I have steamed them here. Steam for 4 to 5 minutes until just cooked and still has a bite.
Remove from steamer and let cool completely. This is crucial before stirring in the yogurt dressing.
Mix the dressing ingredients and adjust taste to your preference.
Add all the salad ingredients into a bowl.
Top with dressing and give it a gentle mix as steam cooking will soften the broccoli a bit. Once thoroughly mixed, chill in refrigerator for an hour or so.
Just before serving, sprinkle some more roasted sesame seeds and enjoy chilled or at room temperature.
Happy Eating!
Recipe Notes
Feel free to adjust the spices and seasonings in the dressing.
This salad, especially if using raw broccoli is great for enjoying all week long or for parties or gatherings. Just sprinkle some more sesame seeds or any nuts or seeds to use again before serving.
Some grated carrots, chopped bell peppers, shredded cabbage etc. would be wonderful additions!
If using steamed broccoli, consume within a day or two as broccoli, especially the cooked ones tend to soften even more in the dressing.
